Department of Chemistry

Department of Chemistry at NUV is a very vibrant and friendly place to study. The department offers a wide range of challenging and rewarding chemistry courses that are designed to enhance and develop the scientific skills demanded by employers in industry or academia. We have state-of-the-art facilities and strong industrial collaborations ensuring that we remain competitive both in chemistry education and research.

M.Sc. Chemistry Program

Chemistry owing to its strength in analysis as well as synthesis of molecules plays an important role in innovation and development of sustainable production processes, novel high-tech materials, products in pharmaceutical industry and high-end polymers. Chemical Industry accounts for over half the value of the Indian companies and hence chemistry is vital to the economy. These companies need graduates with knowledge, confidence and expertise who can adapt to the challenges and make the most of the opportunities that technological advances provide. Our courses are designed with these needs in mind. Through lectures, hands on laboratory work, presentations and independent dissertation thesis, our post graduates will receive training aided with research methodologies and shall also focus on important issues related to Organic and Analytical chemistry in a sustainable manner. Our post graduates will leave us with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to play leading roles in industry, business or in the world of academic research.
