Our Architecture program goes beyond just training students to fit into the professional slot. It introduces and develops the skills and knowledge necessary for contemporary architectural practice, which includes the following:

Internships : As a part of the curriculum, the 8 th semester B.Arch students are required to undergo practical training/internships at Architectural offices.

ELIGIBILITY : Candidates who have passed 10+2 level examination with pass percentage in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM)* OR Candidates who have passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with pass percentage*

Please note: * As per the directive of COA dated 7 August 2020, the eligibility criteria of 50% aggregates marks in PCM (10+2) or in Diploma Examination (10+3) has been removed for admission in academic year 2020-21

HOW TO APPLY ?
Candidates applying under and category must register with ACPC (www.jacpcldce.ac.in) for admission in B.Arch. program

  • The candidates must first register with ACPC
  • Additional form for this category would be made available on Navrachana University website after the declaration of admission schedule by ACPC.
  • Please note that after registration with ACPC, candidates must submit a completed MQ/NRI form with the necessary documents at School of Environmental Design and Architecture, Navrachana University.
  • University will declare inter-se merit list of the applicants based on ACPC score on the Navrachana University website for this category.
  • The admission would be offered based on this merit list.

Open category : 20 seats (allocation by ACPC)

EWS category : 8 seats (allocation by ACPC)

Management / NRI category : 20 seats

Lateral Admissions in 2nd/3rd year :

  • This is for students who have already completed 1/2 years in design/architecture programs in any other institute.
  • Students interested in lateral admission in the 2nd/3rd year are requested to mail their application to deanseda@nuv.ac.in.
  • Please mention clearly the program(s) you are interested in.
  • Please attach your portfolio of 1st/2nd year works and mark sheets of these semesters with the mail.
  • The last date of receiving applications is June 15, 2020.

  1. NOTARIZED Affidavit (Click here to download) of sponsorer NRI indicating relation with candidate and undertaking for responsibilities regarding tuition fee, other fees and other responsibilities of the candidate till the completion of course. (Signature of affidavit should match with signature in passport)
  2. Equivalence Certificate from Abroad Student (NRI candidate)
  3. Document for proof of residence (NRI / NRI sponsor)
  4. Attested Color Photocopy of Passport of NRI/ NRI Sponsor (for NRI/NRI Sponsored candidate ) (sponsorer’s signature should be clearly visible)
  5. Copy of passport of admitted student and copy of passport of his/her mother and/or father proving NRI status (NRI candidate)
  6. The candidates will be bound by the rules and regulations of the University as applicable during their course of study. Disputes, if any, relating to admission shall be subject to Vadodara (Gujarat, India) jurisdiction only.

Selection Process:

A candidate seeking admission to the program under these seats is required to submit application in prescribed Application Form of NUV. Such candidate should also have applied to ACPC, Gujarat and should have appeared for NATA.

The NRI candidates will have to submit the prescribed Application Form along with a copy of his/her passport and a copy of passport of his/her mother and/or father. NRI sponsored candidates seeking admission on NRI seats will have to submit copy of a passport (having signature of sponsorer) of sponsoring NRI person and the affidavit stating relation of student with sponsoring NRI person, responsibilities of paying tuition fee and other fees and taking all responsibilities of education of sponsored student.

The University will prepare the Inter-se Merit list of eligible candidates having merit number of Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) of Gujarat. The Inter-se Merit list will be displayed on the University’s Website as well as on Notice Board. The candidates on the Inter-se Merit will be called for counseling at the University campus at Vadodara and offered admission in order of merit.

Q1 – What are the career prospects for an Architecture graduate?

Ans – Architects are amongst the most sought-after graduates in the building Industry. They often work in large firms or they have their own practice. Many architects also do research and teach.

Q2 – Can I do furniture design, Interior design or even lighting design after Architecture?

Ans – Architecture is a very well accepted base degree. Graduate pursue many different allied disciplines or even specialization after this. Like Landscape, Conservation, Urban design, Furniture Design

Q3 – What is unique about the Architecture program at SEDA?

Ans – We believe in learning by doing, so we indulge in lot of hands on learning methods.

Students are exposed to in-house state of the art facilities like the SEDA Material Lab, Wood workshop, Pottery and Photography labs. We get the best experts from the Industry to come and teach. We have very talented and passionate faculty members and presently the Dean is an internationally acclaimed architect with over 25 years of teaching experience.

Q4 – Is it a lot of work?

Ans – Oh yes! If you join Architecture, you sell your soul to the profession! It’s a lot of work but it is so exciting that you will get addicted to it! To be in Architecture school is a life changing experience

Q5 – Do you have practical experience or Internship during the degree course?

Ans – Yes, Architecture program which is of five years, have a semester (nearly 4 months) dedicated to Office training (Internship) where our students spend this time in an Architect’s office as Interns.

Q6 – What about International Exchange? Do you have any?

Ans – We are presently pursuing and in talks with many universities across the world and are deciding the terms of exchange program with North Dakota State University, USA. Hopefully in a year time we should have exchange programs with Universities in Europe and North America.

Q7 – How is the student life at SEDA?

Ans – SEDA enjoys a very strong student culture. Our students are very enthusiastic and organize many activities on their own; from organizing lectures series related to the field of design, sports events, music and jam sessions to having started their own student Newsletter. Overall, they enjoy a very positive rapport with their fellow colleagues and peers at the campus.

Q8 – What is the admission process for Bachelor of Architecture?

Ans – Admission to Bachelor of Architecture is governed through the Gujarat Government Joint Admission Committee (ACPC). You have to first appear for NATA examination and then apply to ACPC with your NATA score plus your HSC results (50% weightage is given to both)

Q9 – Do you have hostels at NUV?

Ans – Yes, we have a hostel facility for both boys and girls 2 km away from the campus. But we do have a lot of newly built apartment buildings near the University, where most of our students prefer to rent on sharing basis.

Q10 – How many seats are there for Bachelor of Architecture?
