Objectives
The aim of the seminar is to abreast the participants with fundamentals of geosynthetics materials, design and construction employing them, and also to provide exposure to International and National best practices. Have an overall understanding about design criteria using geosynthetics for various types of civil engineering structures from sustainability, durability and economic point of view. Understand the guidelines and requirements for retaining structures, construction on soft soils, erosion control and landfill construction which could help in planning and directing the construction activity appropriately.
Topics to be covered
- Geosynthetics – Types & Manufacturing.
- Reinforced Soil Retaining Structures – Walls & Slopes.
- Pavement and Landfill stabilization using Geosynthetics
- Coastal & River Bank Erosion Control
- Stabilization of landslides & other natural slopes by soil nailing and ground anchors.
- Applications of Geosynthetics under Static and Dynamic environment.
- Geosynthetics products and applications.
- Case Studies
