Teaching and Research

Aashna Jain joined Navrachana University as an Academic Associate in 2014.

She handles Physics Laboratory and is an instructor to students pursuing Engineering and BSc disciplines. She also handles some experiments in Electrical Engineering. Apart from this, Aashna also helps in Physics Tutorial sessions, journal evaluation and preparation of some Interdisciplinary courses. She has chosen teaching as a way to conduct research in education.

Aashna is pursuing her Ph.D. in the area of high pressure physics. She is trying to determine the electrical resistivity of materials especially, negative thermal expansion materials under high pressure. She is also involved in setting up High Pressure Lab at Navrachana University.

Education

  • PhD since 2015 at Navrachana University, Vadodara under the Guidance of Dr. Pallavi Ghalsasi. Her research area includes High Pressure Studies on Novel Materials
  • MSc (Applied Physics) from Maharaja SayajiRao University of Baroda in 2014. Her dissertation was titled ‘Onset of Chaos in Deformed Chains of Interacting Spin-1/2’.

Notable Achievements
